Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Sonora ('the App'). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our App. While our core principle is privacy by design, certain essential data is processed to provide core functionality like subscriptions and user accounts, ensure app stability, and with your explicit consent, to optimize your app experience, provide relevant advertising, and send you newsletters.
2. Data Collection and Use
Sonora is designed to minimize data collection while providing you with the best possible experience. We collect data in the following categories:
Essential Data (No Consent Required)
Transaction Data (via RevenueCat): To manage in-app purchases and subscriptions, a unique, anonymous user identifier is generated and shared with our payment processor, RevenueCat. This allows us to validate purchases and restore access across devices. We do not have access to your payment details (like credit card numbers), which are handled securely by the App Store or Google Play Store and RevenueCat.
Anonymized Crash Data: If the app crashes, we collect anonymized diagnostic information (like device type, OS version, and the point of failure) via Firebase Crashlytics. This data contains no personal identifiers and is used solely to diagnose and fix bugs to improve app stability and performance.
Optional Data (With Your Consent)
Usage Analytics: With your explicit consent, we may collect anonymized usage data to understand how you interact with the app (such as which sounds are most popular, session duration, and feature usage). This helps us optimize the app experience and develop new features that better serve our users.
Marketing Attribution Data (via Google Ads): With your consent, we may collect anonymous identifiers to measure the effectiveness of our own advertising campaigns. This helps us understand how users discover Sonora and optimize our marketing efforts. This data is used solely for analyzing our ad performance and is never used to show you advertisements within the app. This data is processed according to Google's privacy policies.
Local Storage: Any settings or preferences you configure (sound mixes, volume levels, favorites) are stored exclusively locally on your device and are not accessible to us unless you explicitly grant permission for usage analytics.
User Accounts (Optional)
Account Creation: You may optionally create an account using Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In. Account creation is not required to use the App or to purchase subscriptions. When you create an account, we receive your email address from your chosen sign-in provider. Authentication is processed through Firebase Authentication.
Account Data: If you create an account, we store:
- Your email address (provided by Google or Apple)
- A unique user identifier
- Account creation date
Anonymous Users: If you choose not to create an account, you can still use all App features including subscriptions. An anonymous identifier is generated through Firebase Authentication to manage your subscription status.
Newsletter (Optional)
Newsletter Signup: You may optionally subscribe to our newsletter to receive updates about Sonora. If you subscribe, we collect and store your email address in Firebase. We do not share your newsletter email with third parties. You can unsubscribe at any time through the App settings or by contacting us.
3. Consent and Control
